Just ask her what she into, what she does, play sports, hobbies, ect.! stuff like that. Tell her you want to take her out sometime too!

Hmmm. It sounds more like a connection problem to me. If you guys were really gonna be a good couple or get along well, I'm sure you'd be able to talk without a huge amount of awkwardness. If you're this weird on the phone, imagine the silence on a date! Eeep. There really are no specific questions. If you connect well, the conversation might be like:
*awkward silence*
Boy: So nice weather we're having today.
Girl: Um, it's raining.
Boy: Maybe I like the rain.
Girl: Maybe I like it too. But MAYBE you just didn't know. In fact, I like singing in the rain.
Boy: The movie or actual singing. Because I might have to end this date if you really sing to yourself... Just kidding.
*Both laugh*

You can tell a date's going well or you connect with someone because you can just get started talking on almost anything. Maybe you should either try and meet her in person and see if it's just phone shyness, or just let this one go. I would say give it a chance though. It's not every day a girl gives you her number I'm assuming.

try asking her about her likes and dislikes. Without digging too deep try to find out about her and figure out what you have in common and then that will be something you can talk about to help prolong the conversations. If you find out little details about her~remember them! That is very important! You can utilize all of the information you gather from questions asked to improve on future encounters. Good Luck and hope things work out!

Don't jump from one subject to another like: Ok, what sport do you like? 5 minutes later, What do you hate about school? Just talk about one very comon subject and trust me, the conversation will get good. One miute you're talking about siblings, the next your talking about ice cream. Girls are like that.

Ask her to a movie then talk about the movie. Get her to talk about herself and ask questions to show that you are listening and interested.

Girls like to talk so try to get her to talk about something she likes. We love guys who'll listen. Get her to talk about herself. Ask her questions that tell her you are interested in her.

If you can't think of things to say, you guys don't have much of a connection. Move onto someone else...

Well, you can always talk about what you like to do in your spare time. Then you could ask her what she likes to do. You can talk about anything with her. Be yourself, and if she does not like it, then she is not worth it.
