I applaud the fact that laws are being passed to address this issue. This problem would not be what it is if schools simply enforced discipline, and not allow for bullying and harassment of others.

What is really sad is that legislators have to get involved. They have to pass a law making it mandatory that schools have to do what they should already be doing.

When I was in school many many years ago, the teachers and principal dealt with problem kids(the few that were around)right in the school. We had a townwide curfew where I grew up, every night at 9 p.m. the fire horn would sound, and if the police saw you out after that they would give you one warning to go home, and if they saw you again after that warning, they would actually give you a ride home, and they would walk you to the door so the parents would know you was out. These days though, they are all worried that if they do things that way, they will certainly face a sure lawsuit. That mostly is what ails todays american youth, as well as the fact that they teach in the schools that if a parent or guardian hits them, to report it to the authorities. So, parents don't even have a right to correct their own children any more. Thanks to our lovely government, and damn nut who originally started getting these laws pushed through. Myself, I don't think, that in a nation such as ours, that a government body of any kind should be able to enact new laws without them going on a ballot, to be voted on by every single american alive. AND, without the use of the now failed system of collegiate vote!

what is wrong with the students?
what is wrong with the students?
i got a better question.
what is wrong with the schools?
they do NOTHING. the administrators do nothing but stand in the hallways and say "hi" to everyone. clearly, seeing as how the children havent mutated, its the environment they live in.
bullies have always been a part of school.
the problem is that kids, rather than just punching the kid in the balls a couple times and teach them not to bully again, theyve been taught that theirs such a thing as "emotional instability", which in my opinion didnt exist until it was made up, and parents who baby their children have created a monster on a much larger scale.
"emotional pain" is the supression of the impulse to fight back. basically, when someone always chooses "flight" in the fight or flight situation, but the bully always flies after him/her, he or she begins to feel helpless, because that person has such supressed rage, and are afraid to release that anger, because the administrations freak out every time kids have little fights.
the kids are normal.
the bullying is normal.
even the fighting is normal.
the standards, however, have changed.

It all starts at home! The big picture. The rest of the World see us Americans as a bunch of bullies. Now you have your answer for terriorist, as insane as that is it all grows out of the fight or flight responce. Even the most passive person will eventually devise a method of striking back at a bully. Thats exactlly what you are doing with your question.
