My new job is OK, not too challenging, the new offer is $3,000.00 more per year and a more responsibility. I don't know what to do

Wow. Weigh the pros and cons of each job. Is the extra money worth the added responsibility? Which job has more advancement options? What are you looking for in a job, which one fits what you want better? As a manager I have had employees work one or two days and get another offer. Don't just not show up for work one day, talk to your boss and explain everything, never, never burn your bridges.

Good luck

Sometimes more $$ does not mean that the job is better. You should do a list of good and bad of both jobs and keep the job with more good for you. Remember that some jobs might offer you more $$ but with that comes more problems, preasures, responsability and stress. Also look at the long run. Which job is better in the long run? Take in consideration also why you are taking this job. Is this a stepping stone for you or are you planning to stay for a more that 5 years? There are so many things you have to consider. Are you going to school? Which one of these jobs affect your studies more that the other? I know $$ can be tempting but don't be fooled make sure that you think this decision thru and make the right choice for you and what is best for you now and in the long run!

Good luck! :)

Oooh, this is a really tough one. Consider these:

1. How much do you enjoy your job? Do you go home happy? Is it something that really interests you?
2. How much do you like your current co-workers? Are they friendly? Have you made any friends? I know you've only been there 2 days, but have you really clicked with anyone?
3. How much better off will you be if you take the new job? Financially, I mean. Is the new job something you enjoy?

Give this issue some serious thought and discuss it with your spouse or other family members. You may find you have a responsibility to your current job, but you may also find that you will enjoy the new job more. If you decide to accept the new job, do your best to give the current job a 2-week notice so they can properly replace you.

Hope this helps and good luck!!

I agree with cybervagabond that you should never burn your bridges. Think about it carefully, make your list of pros and cons, and then sleep on it. Don't make a snap decision, money isn't everything. If you are then sure that you want the second job, speak to your current boss, explain the situation, and see if he/she can offer you more money and responsibility at your present job. If not, give your two weeks notice and accept the new job offer.

Good luck!

Keep the job you have now, and check out this new one. If you apply for the interview and make the job, and it still seems like a good idea, then you can quit your old job. Don't quit right away though. Wait until you're certain it's the right thing to do.

Switch now; do it quick so that your current employer doesn't invest too much time in you and they stlil have the other applicants to call.

They might offer to match the other salary, but if not, the nice thing would be to go quickly, while not forcing them to start over from scratch.

Tell the other job that you have to decline their offer and go with the one that will be more beneficial to you financially and career wise.
