If you think about it long and hard, both men and women were treated badly.I'll elaborate.Families were broken up the slave masters had a "thing" for black women so they went around raping the female slaves. The darker slaves were worked like dogs out side while the lighter skinned ones were considered more trustworthy and were let in the house.Lighter skinned blacks were often used as intermediaries between the white and black communities.Blacks were sold into slavery most often by there own people in Africa. There were white slaves as well in many European countries (Russia, the Balkans).BTW: As we speak right now, someone is being sold or bought as a slave in the world(Asia,Africa,South America, and even here in the USA).

Men have always been considered the greater gender in about 95% of civilizations. Blacks were slaves because the white men had more advanced technology at the time (like.. guns..) and the africans didn't really need slaves, or didn't come up with the concept first..

women were always considered less important or superior to man. even though all slaves were considered property , women were treated more on that level because they abused emotionally and physically. there have been documented counts of white slaves before black slaves but blacks were considered much more equipped for the hard duty labor and could work under any condition.

Most of those were taught to be that way by their parents. There are many who would not. My father would have been one of them. He believed that men and women should be treated equally with respect and care. Yes, some still try to get away with it. Many in the town where I live tried with me and got an earful. I mean someone told me to only write (when I worked for the local paper) what the mayor wanted and I told him, not only was he not my husband, nor boss, he would never be and I would write what I darn well pleased if it were the truth. He never tried that again.

Well women black slaves were often raped by their slave masters, obviously the slave masters weren't gay so they would rape the women but not the men. Why were black people slaves, oh i dont know, would of been so different if it was the opposite? one could only imagine.

How do you feel that one was treated worse? men were beaten, cut, tortured, over- worked in horrible conditions...women were house slaves, who worked in the kitchen, or took care of children, or picked cotton. If they were abused, the master felt he had the right as owner....it was terrible for both, equally...by the way there were Europian white slaves, before there were blacks...but they were called "indentured" which pretty much means, I own you, untill you can pay for yourself, which means...never.
