They always need volunteers at a VA hospital.

Find what it is that you really care about and live a life that shows it. First of all, take care of yourself and make sure you are happy and comfortable with your surroundings and have a peaceful feeling about yourself.
Next, find some profitable work that you can do that isn't stressful. Reading to children, painting pictures, making ups songs, making crafts to sell for fun, even playing games with sick people, and if you are able gardening. Even caring for small plants inside the house is a fun thing to do but if you have a little land outside, it helps you to get exercise while feeding people too. Take walks and do as much as you are able to do. If you can, get a part time job that pays a little money or volunteer. Teach classes in something that you are good at doing. Pass on your skills to younger people.
My brother is 65 and has just moved to a retirement home. He LOVES computers and is teaching older people how to use them. He also volunteers at the hospital and is learning different crafts...like wood working, ceramics and leather work. He makes a lot of things just for fun and gives them away. He never had time for things like that before. Now he has time to go to operas, concerts and musicals. He is taking up sports like golf and bowling and even dancing! He never had time to explore things like that before. (I can't imagine my brother DANCING or playing golf either for that matter!! He was always such a workaholic :) My brother seems very happy to be retired and I think, when I'm old enough, I will be too...but I have a long time to wait as my brother is old enough to be my father!

He should involve him in some NGO or work for the upliftment of the society.A retired person should not remain idle as it will develop the feeling of being neglected. A retire person should think that he is retire but not tired.

The best way of all, If possible, is, that a retired person should serve in bringing up the human society from children to person of any age with his life time achieved art, skill, knowledge and all good experiences.

it is always better to plan retirement well in advance.
join yoga class with your life partner to enjoy healthy life ahead.
control food habits.
offer your help in cleaning home,in kitchen,if required.
go out every eve with your partner to buy vegetables and other daily requirements.(this will offer some privacy to your gen next )
plan a tour in or out of country ones a year.
contact school mates and other friends and form a club for social activities.
pursue some hobbies which will not need help of anyone at home.
if possible do not give free or unwanted advice to any one unless someone seek your help.this saves lot of trouble.

You have earned the right to do what you want - when you want- with who you want.
Alot of the Senior Centers AREN'T just FOR OLD PEOPLE anymore! They have organized trips to Vegas & Branson, Dances, Exercise classes, Arts, Theatre groups and sooo much more!
Contact your local Department on Aging.
They know every resource in your county.

Pursue one's life-long hobbies, if any.
Devote some time daily in local social life.
Teach the young children to read and write.
Help the poor and needy persons
Remember God and pray, both morning and in the evening.
Thank Him for what all he has given us.

an retired person can take a walk
in morning or he can join yoga classes.
at after noon as uswell he can go to sleep
at evening he can turn t.v on and watch it
