I think it is atrocious what the people have done to such a beautiful island. But if you think it looks bad today, but you should have seen it about 10 years ago.
Taiwan is still in the early stages of recognizing what the impact of their pollution is on their environment. I must commend some, especially Mai Yin Jo. (Sorry, my Pinyin sucks.)
I only hope that with the new generation, comes a new way of looking at our environment.

I like Taiwan. There is pollution for sure, but not nearly as bad as Bangkok or Shanghai or other industrial cities I've been to in China. I think there is less pollution in Hong Kong.

I don't think anything about the pollution in Taiwan. I live in the U.S.

Taiwan is relatively clean. Trash is recycled, and garbage incinerated in state of the art incinerators. Compare that with China or Philippines where they burn the fields and garbage, or throw it in the river.

I'd been there, its not too bad compared to most other Asian cities. Taipei psi level is better than Kaoshiung thougn.
