Tricky position.

Any planet in the 12th house requires extra attention.

The Moon for many people represent the mother : in what kind of state was your mother whilst you were in the womb ?

This position can indicate (don't know the sign nor the aspects though) somebody who has difficulty getting in touch with their feelings, or people getting to "know them"..

In some cases it can mean that the mother was kind of absent, bodily or intellectually..negligent..

The moon represents the subconscious..in that position either one is kind of a bit lost or extremely intuitive although CAN be a bit of a loner..feeling misunstood etc..

Might also represent secrets in the family..

If one is really attuned, this position can be one of the greatest :intuition, perspective, sensing other people..

If it is afflicted...can indicated lots of damages AT TIMES..

The 12th house also represents life in the womb and as we know now, foetuses are affected before coming into this world and getting their first breath of fresh air. They are deeply attuned to the mother : her diet, mood, can hear etc..

For some it can mean a profund effect..

No one can really generalise before knowing the whole chart anyway.

About a year ago, I met a lady who was born with a moon in Cancer in the 12 th house...she was adopted as a child (12th house : mystery, secrets, addictions, jail etc.) and she learned that she was born whilst her mother was having a bath..

Myself : I always pay extra attention to planets in the 12th house because they don't want to deal with real life and issues..the best can be achieved in terms of creativity etc..

Vast subject anyway..

The moon is the planet of emotions. The 12th house is the house of secrets. Moon in your 12th house (depending on the sign) can mean you have a need to be alone. Your emotions may turn inward instead of being allowed out. It also means you may have a really good imagination. If badly aspected, excessive drug use could be an issue. Try and find a qualified astrologer to help you understand your chart. It can be a great "road map" to help you understand certain traits.

12th HOUSE
The twelfth house describes the private and hidden side of life; your subconscious mind, dreams, the past, and those who wish you harm or work against your interests. The twelfth house relates to sorrow, disappointment, loss, solitude or confinement, hidden fears and worry. It also has connection with the job or health of your marriage or business partner.

With the Moon in the 12th house, your emotional nature is extremely sensitive to your surroundings, and periods of seclusion may be necessary for you to get your head together and restore your sense of identity. You may feel most at home with your own company or in deep meditation. It is not that you are antisocial, it is just that these periods are necessary for your emotional well-being. Your feelings may be strongly affected by unconscious or semi-conscious memories from your past, how these will affect you will depend on whether they were positive or negative experiences. You may have some connection with institutions such as prisons or hospitals, in fact, you can be a source of caring and comfort to people who are in such places, but you will have a hard time not becoming too involved

Moon in the 12th House: -tend to be very vulnerable and sensitive -emotional boundaries are extremely diffused -psychic and instinctive qualities are likely to be very powerful -may be difficulty coping with daily life and sometimes the home is often a place of seclusion, sanctuary and retreat from the world -often needs to be behind the scenes and some are attracted to a caring role that involves selfless giving of some kind -may be very shy or suffer from fears brought on by childhood trauma or past negative experiences -has boundless compassion and empathy for everyone (very understanding) -can feel lonely and misunderstood but need solitude and space to cope with daily life Howard Sasportas describes those with the Moon in the 12th House as "psychic vacuum cleaners", they ‘suck in’ whatever is circulating in the atmosphere. Aries Moon: -impulsive/lack restraint -enthusiastic -spontaneous and determined -live for the moment -passionate and have no qualms about sharing feelings -very independent -want to make a strong impression -well-suited to meeting challenges that may destroy lesser people -clever and often approach situations with a novel angle -may tend to blame things on others -takes everything personally, but doesn't hold grudges -don't normally take any time to consider the consequences of their actions -tends to calm down as they get older -gets bored easily -has a problem differentiating between a need and a want it seems like you've got a very aggressive Moon in a very sensitive House. but the main aspect of the 12th House is the experience in which you are challenged to explore your inner depths in solitude and silence; to discern between illumination and illusion, between spiritual growth and escapism. having such a strong Moon sign in this House can be extremely beneficial. you'll have a great drive and persistence to transcend the definitions of reality that confine you. traditionally this house is associated with the unconscious, self undoing, sacrifice, karma, secrets, secret enemies, hospitals and institutions of confinement.
