The Saturation Zone is where the ground is saturated (full of) water. Transpiration is ground water lost to the atmosphere by plants.

Saturation zone: A subsurface zone in which all the interstices are filled with water under pressure greater than that of the atmosphere. (below water table)

Transpiration: The process by which water absorbed by plants, usually through the roots, is evaporated into the atmosphere from the plant surface.
