after using system restore, i restored to an earlier point. after unrestoring, half my installed oblivion files are missing. i tried re-installing oblivion but installsheild crashes to desktop. help!

Delete all traces of oblivion that you can find and try to reinstall through you start menu. Go to Run... in the start menu and type in C:/setup or C:/install I had the same problem with my fallout games and this worked for reinstalling them. (If the disc brings up a auto install screen exit out of that before trying this method.)

If you are having this problem. You will need to completely uninstall the game and all backup files. If that doesn't work, then you will have to go buy a new copy of the game.
