How close are we to "1984" ????

Question

President bush has signed executive orders giving HIM sole authority to impose martial law, and suspend the writ of habeas corpus. This gives him dictatorial power over the people, without any checks and balances...... this means that anyone of us could be imprisoned for life, by the government, without charges, without trial and without representation.... Yet one more reason we are heading toward "1984"

George Orwell was correct in his assumtions of the future. I believe we have surpassed "1984" as he saw it, and in the our future we will see a dictator ruling over us, with no middle class. The poor of our own country starvng, while our money is sent to help middle eastern countries pay for their weapons of mass destruction, that they will eventually use on us.....oh...wait...that's all ready here.

I'd like to add that Abraham Lincoln did the same things. If a newspaper printed something he didn't like, men in blue showed up to destroy the press and later deport the editor. All telegraph messages were read by the army. Lincoln suspended habius corpus and when the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court issued a ruling that only Congress could suspend it, Lincoln ordered his arrest. It certainly didn't lead to 1984 then but it very well could have started the trend.

we are living the reality of it ,and it is better than the plan written in the book ,orwell speak read spin ,is all the key ,i
ts not what you do but the words used to describe what we have done or plan to do ,be it for mass destraction ,or destruction if we fight while just enacting ,its destracting from the destruction inherant in a cabal warning or in the tool of mass destraction as in peni-traitors or traitors penning thier spin that facilitates

perpitration ,or perpetuation perpetually or prematurearilly ,sore-bent green is the youth elixer it is made from aborted children yet keeps us looking young ,that 50,000,000 dead children aboerted scince 1973 not have been aborted for vanity alone ,but is that just an inconveniant truth too. ,or just waste not want not getting an economic return ,recourse or murder thou shalt not kill for vasnity
