Did you ever think that the reason they watch TV is to learn and keep up on current ideas and thoughts? I know some people that abhor gossip and watch TV to have something to talk about to others.
Watching the news opens up your mind and keeps you up to date. Try talking to them, they may not be as stupid as you think,
you may learn something also. Give them a chance, you will be old someday and may want and need the same opportunity.

old people don't have anything else to do. so they start reading the news and then get addicted. i mean my gamps can' hardly tear himself away from the news. and he gets angry if we disturb him. then they start yelling at the guys on tv. its soo wierd.

i got one more thing not all old people are addicted to the news. my gramps is and my gramdmas not just the majority are.

The news affects us, directly and indirectly--international, national, local, community. If you don't believe that you must still be a pre-teen..
