I do not have a lawyer to ask. Since our divorce was non-contested and we did not have to divide anything, we did not both need to be represented. In PA there is a 90 day grace period once a divorce is filed but I would like to at least know if I will be informed when everything is complete since it has been over 90 days. You would think I would need to sign something at least right?? I would just like some sort of closure.

Usually, both parties receive a notice from the court, by mail. If you had a 90 day grace period, they're probably going to start processing the paperwork to finalize it. But you might want to call your county to check the status

Divorces are public records in most states. They are filed with the court clerk in either the husband or wife's township (if you live in different counties). Both parties are required to receive a document (either original or copy) which has been signed by a judge and docketed (stamped to show it has been recorded). The specific procedure varies from state to state. If it has been over 90 days, call the clerk at the court where you believe it was filed to check status. However, in most states both parties need to sign the divorce papers before they are filed. The fact that you signed nothing sounds strange.

The most important closure happens inside so some form of official papers won't solve that, it might help but not the complete solution. Go to or write to the court and ask for details of the current status of the proceedings and ask if they will advise you offically when the degree is ordered

I had an uncontested divorce and you have to go get the final copy from the court house. Don't be surprised if they charge you a small fee, I think I had to pay 12 dollars, for it.

I would think that both parties would receive papers. Have you gone to court? Try calling him or the courts.

This has to be recorded at the local court house, call them. Also some newspaper will know too.
