They're one of the top 3 or 4 brands in the USA, and many performers play Taylors. Any guitar costing over $1000 and made of solid woods is usually considered a high end instrument. Real professionals pick out their guitars by how they sound and feel. Every guitar is different, and the choice is a very personal one. Unless you are a sufficiently advanced player that you know exactly what you're looking for in a guitar, which doesn't appear to be the case, you will be better off buying a less expensive instrument than the 814ce.

The crap they sell in Walmart. Although they are okay to use as learning tools for tuning tremolo's, making mistakes, banging up and things like that...
