I went over bored and deleted everything I could. I dont know why, though haha!

Now, no programs will open, and I cant get anything to work. Everything has that icon which stands for "Uhh..which program do I use?"

I dont have restore disks. Or anything else. Please help. IM WILLING DO TO WHATEVER IT TAKES!!!

Believe me, it can not get worse.

Thanks guys!!!

Looks like your sh*t out of luck buddy. Whatever you do. Never modify the system registry without making a backup first. That is the "BRAINS" of the operating system. Unless you are VERY proficient working with it.

Anyways, if you are willing to do anything like you say then you will need to get your hands on a restore disk for your operating system. Without that your computer will have problems for the remainder of it's life.

If you messed with the Registry you are probably out of luck, but if you just deleted files you may be to restore it using a "Restore Point" if your software is a standard install. The default condition for Windows is to automatically create restore points at designated intervals. As long as the default condition was not changed and you didn't run out of space on your hard drive, try the following:

Boot up your computer while holding down the F8 key. Instead of booting normally it will take you to a different place. Look for "Restore Computer" (or something like it.) You should see a list of dated restore points to choose from. Pick the last one BEFORE you started deleting files and select that one.

If successful your computer will be automatically restored to the condition before you started deleting files...

Good Luck!

If you screwed with the Registry and deleted files, Which you shouldn't touch unless you are a technician... The PC will only work with a complete Reformat and Reinstall of the OS. If you can borrow a OS CD and a Windows ME Bootdisk, you can format the hard drive and reinstall the OS, But you will need your COA (Certificate of Authenticity ) Key, it's 25 Letters and Numbers in increments of 5 per block.. Use your key with someone elses CD, it will work, just as long as you use the key you installed the original OS With.... If you can boot the PC, jellybean will pull the key from the registry for you, IF YOU haven't deleted it too...Sorry and Good Luck

you can fix this but it will take time and there are alot of things to follow. the link below is for XP. you will still need a startup disk or syatem disk to do this. only do this if you have alot of info you want saved, otherwise just get a copy of XP and insert it to boot from. when the option screen appears, choose the repair option and it will fix the system registry. it won't fix programs that aren't part of the system. you'll need to get a registry program that will fix those problems. also after doing the repair, run a registry cleaner program. you'll need the CD key to put in when doing the repair.

You need the original operating system CDs or a "restore point".

If you no longer have the CDs you can always purchase new ones.

You could download recovery discs from the web. I would recommend http://www.katz.ws. Search for Windows Vista, Windows XP, or whatever you want to use. Keep in mind, it is illegal.
