As a child I was told a poem by my mother
Kate, Kate, you'd better not wait
The two little Smith girls have just passed the gate
Hurry up darling, I know you'll be late
Kate, Kate, Kate.

Does anybody know it?
I would like to know the rest of the poem and the author.
Also whether it is in or out of copyright

seems you'll have to check with Mom if she's accessible.
Its not easy tracing it by only that info you've provided.

Is this the one?
Kate, Kate Kate!
I know you will be late!
Here is your satchel
And here is your slate.
Don't go like that child,
Your hair is in a state!....
Kate! Kate! Kate! .....
Its twenty to nine,
Take your umbrella,
It may not keep fine.
Oh! What a hanky ...
You'd better take mine
Kate! Kate! Kate!
You have'nt your fare!
Here are your sandwiches,
on the hall chair..
What's that?... Your hockey stick.?..
Where darling where?
Kate Kate kKate!
