This is a complicated answer, I hope I can boil it down and make sense. There is no real time. What we commonly know as time is actually the passing of events through the now moment that we live in. The future never comes, and the past is merely reverberations or echoes of experiences that have passed through the now moment. Therefore time began when our brains developed enough capacity to analyze the present moment.

Time began when humans started getting dressed before going out.The cave guy would be ready and waiting while the cave woman would be fixing her hair or something like that.The cave guy got smart and would yell in to the cave home telling her to hurry up UGH!!.Then he would watch as the sun shown down on a stick making a shadow on the ground. ( sun dial) This is when man figured out that if you want to take a cave woman out you need to tell her two hours early.

I think that time has always been. Except for humans, time began when God created them. but humans aren't that important in the scheme of things, so time has still, always been.
