what percentage is 18000 of 718000?

why are you giving us all the thumbs down, its maths but we are all giving you the right answer just in different equations.

Lots of correct answer - hope you understand why.

Think about this - if you had 80 smarties and 20 of them are blue (they taste better) what percentage are blue.

Looking at it, it is 1/4 or 25%

How do we work this out?

20 ÷ 80 = 0.25

Percentages are simply fractions of 100

So multiply by 100

0.25 x 100 = 25%

Basically then

(what number do you have) ÷ (the total) and then x by 100

(18000 ÷ 718000) x 100

The easiest way to do percentages, if you ask me..is to multipy the smaller number (18000) by 100, then divide by the bigger number (718000)..so the answer would be 2.5%.
