I went to my check-up today and found out that my cervix is really soft. Other than walking, what else can I do to speed things along?

Walking is one of the best ways. Another good one is to hold on ot the arm of your couch and bounce gently on your thighs, opening your pelvis up. The prostaglandins in your husband's sperm are good for softening the cervix but since it is soft now the best thing for you to do is to have orgasms. The oxytocin released during an orgasm can help give labor a kick start. To induce labor, doctors give women a synthetic version of oxytocin called pitocin. Nipple stimulation can start labor as well due to oxytocin release. It can cause really intense contractions so you must be careful. Gently roll your nipples between your fingers and thumbs avoid pinching but roll them, do this for about 10 minutes. (Can be fun to have hubby help with this and then move on to trying for an orgasm...lol). After ten minutes, leave your breasts alone for at least an hour and a half. You can do this up to about six times a day.
You should only be rying to start labor if your baby is at least 37 weeks old. If you are not at 37 weeks. Then you need to wait. The waiting is the hardest part of labor and pregnancy, the last few weeks are sheer torture. If you must wait, then rearrange your nursery (again) or refold all the baby clothes (again) or watch movies and play computer games. Do the things that you will not be able to do shortly.

Heres a website with all different ways to get labor going. As far as castor oil goes be careful its worked for some but I've heard a lot of bad things like major cramping and diareha also one girl I talked to also said that it made the baby go to the bathroom while still inside her and the baby ingested it and almost died so just please be careful.

Castor Oil has always been a sure thing for me. I would take it first thing in the morning. Like 3 tablespoons. The stuff tastes horrible..
About a couple hours later, I would have loose stools, and then within about 6 hours contractions will start.
