Because the democratic party ie liberal party is about liberal reform. Its just the basic difference between the two parties...conservatism basically means keeping the status quo which would include hanging the homosexuals, jews, and those accused of witchery whereas the liberals believe in the notion of 21st century equality and freedom for all men and women.

Why shouldn't we? How does somebody being gay affect you? Afraid you might get hit on once or twice? It does not matter if the person next to you is gay. Homosexuals are people and citizens of this country and they deserve to have the same rights as everybody else under the Constitution.

Yes they do, Because it is for an easy vote or so they believe. They will promise them most anything. And accept them in public but you never see them in private hosting their gay friends unless recorded for the public. Most gay people are smarter than all politicians and gays will have the last laugh. Mark my word on that one.

why don't you? why not ,gays are people too. and it's a FREE country. It's because if gays are allowed the same benefits such as marriage, they would make heterosexuals look bad

I would think it's because their human beings. You might ask Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter; she probably has a better in to that question.
