A feminist can befriend a male -- and most, if not all, do have male friends. As we're on the topic, a man can be a feminist -- and there have been several, including Mary Shelley's father, William Godwin. The idea behind feminism is simply that women are equal to men and therefore, they should have the same rights and opportunities afforded their male counterparts. It's not a doctrine that restricts its followers, restricts their friends, and their interactions, but simply a belief held and interpreted by many. More extreme feminists might occasionally commit a folly by suggesting that women should have /more/ opportunities than men or that they're better, but generally speaking, most women who support the feminist movement are not of that opinion. The suggestions made by previous answerers -- that feminists won't befriend men because of their own hang-ups -- is an unfair assessment and it certainly belies ignorance on their part and a strict adherence to archaic, unfair stereotypes. 'Feminist' is just a term and that the people behind it are regular women shouldn't be forgotten.

Yes. Feminist are always equated with male bashers and lesbians while in fact there is complexity in feminist beliefs. The most common thread being that we believe in equality between the sexes. So yes a feminist can have guy friends and men can be feminists as well.

Yes, I've had plenty of guy friends, and I'd like to consider myself a feminist(the "a woman should be allowed to do anything a man can do, and get the same compensation, as long as she is physically capable" type, not the "woman is better than man, and men today need to pay for the men of yesterday" type).

Feminism stands for equal rights for women. It works towards empowering women. It is not man-hating. So, yes a feminist can befriend a man, many men, and marry one as well. She would probably choose men as friends who also believes in the equality and empowerment of women.

Sure they can. I'm friends with tons of guys. I'm not so radical a feminist that I can't peacefully coexist among men. Of course, when it comes to having actual relationships with them, I can't do that. But friendship is OK.

Yes they can but you have to let them know that it goes two ways.
They will want equal rights and independence but you have to let them know politely that it goes both ways.
I have to add that a supporter of womens can also be male as one of the other answers has said but I would not call you a bigot.

His BEST FRIEND - his WIFE. A husband, however needs to be more mature than the ****** harassing me. The difference between a real man and this dipshit (who is crapping his pants at the mere thought of women speaking out) - is pretty clear, I think.
Their lot is intimidated by grown-ups with education and life experience.

Not if he's been around the block. They have bought into a lie and are not to be trusted.
