Considering their new GM, coach and crop of talented young players, including Kopitar, Cammalleri, Frolov, Brown, etc, the future is promising for this team.

I don't know. What I've seen from the Kings this year is far from encouraging. Kopitar, sure. But the goaltending is a disaster, and the ownership seems committed to selling LA fans short.

The future looks really good for the Kings in the upcoming years. They already have a solid group of youngsters in Cammalleri, Frolov, Kopitar and Brown gaining experience with each game they play. They have good veteran leadership on the tough position of defense with Visnovsky and Norstrom. Goalie was a bit of a disappointment with Cloutier and his injuries, but down in the farm Jonathan Bernier and Jonathan Quick are looking like future stoppers for them. Also down in the farm are blue chipper forwards Patrick O'Sullivan and Lauri Tukonen and 3rd overall pick from 2005, defensemen Jack Johnson!

Goodness gracious, my Kings!! The offense will be great for years thanks to Kopitar, Cammi, Frolov, Armstrong, and Brown.
We just need defense and goaltending.....lol is that all we need?

Losing Joe Corvo to Ottawa was a hard hit. Hopefully we can draw him back (after winning the cup with Ottawa this year). Why did we get Blake? because Colorado Didn't want him. Blake is NO Scott Niedermayer: Old doesn't mean Gold all the time.

Goaltending is definitely the weakness in this team. Garon is budding still, but the team needs a true number one if they want to compete with Giguere, Turco, and Toskala/Nabokov. Fukufuji is a gamble that needs at least a year. Cloutier isn't good anymore. Labarbera and Burke won't cut it. and where the hell is Roman Cechmanek?

I love the Kings, but I'd love them even more with Khabibulin, Biron, or Legace.

The answer to that question lies in what they do about the Goaltending, something they haven't gotten right since Rogie Vachon. Garon may yet work out, his save percentage actually is not that bad, he just has to stay healthy. Cloutier is a problem because he is already signed, so either he will have to do better or the Kings will just have to write it off as another bad decision. Some big-name Goalies may be available. A trade may have to happen, but it would be discouraging to have to let some of the young talent go.

IF they can solve this problem which has plagued them for years, and that's a BIG if.......it will not be long before this team is a serious stanley cup contender.

I am very excited to be a Kings fan. We have up coming players in the system-even defensemen! Our weakness is goaltending of course. Hopefully we can trade for one-we got plenty to offer. I am glad we did not give up Frolov, Brown, and Garon for Luongo-even though he is good. I am not too worried about the future. I see the Kings being elite two-three years from now-when the Capitals and Pens are up there.

I was thinking about this. If they can hang onto Blake and really upgrade defensively I think they could do well. They seem to be able to score and that will only get better.

My question is if Garon can step up and handle the Goaltender position. I think he can.

If thats the case and they make some upgrades I think they have a solid core of players.

Not very good if they don't fire Marc Crawford. He is the worst coach in the NHL. He was terrible as a coach here in Vancouver and he has this weird obsession with Dan Cloutier. Anyone in Vancouver, except Crawford knew that Cloutier sucked. He was always hurt and choked during the playoffs. For even considering Cloutier to be his number 1 goalie, Crawford should be sent packing.
