The first most important thing to do is make sure that people want to buy what ever it is that you will be selling. Even if it goes well with your friends and family - that's not a basis to make big money.
Start small and don't invest too much.
Get some good stock together - make it varied so that you can try all ideas out.
Get some good flyers make up - detailing what you can do, with some photos if it is a craft.
Hire a stall at a market or flea market for a couple of weeks
See what sells and what does not.
Hand out your flyers.
if you make enough to compensate for standing around for, covering your time and material - then do it!
Gradually expand your days at the market as well as your offerings.
Talk to people who come to the stall - ask them what they want etc.

Sure. Find out if you can because not all hobbies make a good business.
And there's no reason you'll like being in business just because you like the hobby.

Turning your hobby into a business is the best business. That's your hobby, you'll be enjoying it. Enjoying it is important as you will be doing your best in it.
Are you looking into online or offline business?
For online, provide information for others. For offline, provide good service.
