But i was wondering which card should i throw in the computer i have. choices between NVidia Geforce FX5200 128MB AGP Video Card w/TV Out and ATI Raedon 8500 128mb AGP.

also, does anybody know any good tweaks i can do to these cards such as overclocking with good detailed instructions for a beginner to follow?

The 8500 (now called a 9100) is the faster card.

NVidia Geforce FX5200 128MB AGP Video Card w/TV Out is better and is a DirectX 9 card. ATI Raedon 8500 128mb AGP isn't a bad card but only is DirectX 8.

Well I went through the same problem before, and still havent picked a card. A site I found will help you out.

www.gpureview.com

Then go to compare cards and you can view their exact specifics.
I've looked them up for you, and in my opinion the ATI radeon is much better. I use a Radeon X700 pcie and its fantastic but id recommend using one of the x series or higher if you want to do anything more than writing documents on your pc.

That is the link that compares the two cards. Watch their process rates 8.8 gb/s for the radeon and 6.4 gb/s for the nvidia.

so. Go with the radeon.

Good luck!

Get an NVidia card. Their drivers are better and if you ever decide to try Linux, you'll have lots of grief with an ATI card.
