My boyfriend is a drummer and I'm trying to help him put himself out there. Does anyone know of a good but free site where he can either post himself as a drummer looking for a band or just look for bands needing drummers?

craigslist is good. so is youtube actually. it might take a little more work, but if he has talent he can tape himself. someone i (kind of) know got picked up drumming to popular songs and putting the song and artist in the keywords. curious people looking for the actual band see the video and click on it, like it and share it. those are the only two real way i know of. or he can just network with bands and groupies.. i mean fans ;) on myspace

www.craigslist.org is the best for that.
