We cannot choose: should we order Comcast Cable or Direct TV. Reception is awful where I live. And there is nothing on regular television! Cable seems so expensive!! But we have to make a decision this weekend.I have never had Direct TV. I live in an apartment on the ground floor. I do not have a HD tv. Help!!

I would say no amount of money is worth having Direct TV. We had it and if it snowed, rained or it was windy our dish went out. I used to have to go scrape the ice out of the dish to get anything on the days we actually could get a signal. That was when I thought I'm paying this kind of money for this?? I cancelled at that moment and never went back. We have TiVo and Digital and I don't believe we pay over 60 a month but the TiVo rocks. I might call around for pricing deals with cable companies in your area but don't waste your time going to Dish Network.................

Hope that helps.........

Satellite television is hugely popular in America as well as in other civilized countries around the world. There are many benefits to having satellite TV , it's not just a case of there always being something to watch , although this is one of the main attractions for many people. However, satellite TV is also the source of a great deal of information, which can be used for education as well as entertainment.

i prefer cable. i have time warner cable and direct tv. i have never dealt with comcast but i can tell you that i can't stand the satellite. i only keep it for the nfl package. if you guys are into sports, go with direct tv. check with your complex, sometimes they offer free basic cable and then you just pay for the upgrades, like hbo etc.
