You can practice ALL you want, but you need the right technique. I can't believe no one stressed technique yet!
Elbow in! Most people forget that. And make sure you're shooting from above your head, not from your face or chest.
Remember, you should be able to shoot with only one arm.

Take a certain amount of shots one day and than add on 10 more the next day. Do this for 2 weeks and I promise you will shoot 3's better than any of your friends.
For example if you shoot 50 shots a day, the next day shoot 60, then 70, then 80, and so on for 2 weeks and then repeat at a higher amount.
Remember practice doesn't make perfect, PERFECT PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!

first of all, it depends on your age. if your 14 or under, try to avoid three point shooting. its not that you aren't talented, but your body is naturally not strong enough yet. youll be throwing the ball instead of shooting. if you want to improve your shooting, you have to work on a shooting form. if you are right handed, follow the instructions, if left handed, switch all the lefts to rights and rights to lefts. when holding the ball in your right hand, keep your right arm straight. your elbow should be exactly perpendicular to the ground. it may feel akward, but trust me. hold your right arm out so it is just in front of your face and is STRAIGHT up. your hand should be just above your eyes. your left hand should just make sure the ball doesn't fall out. jump, and use your knees to shoot, and have as little arm movement as possible. your left hand should NOT move the ball. only your right hand. your left hand simply makes sure u dont lose control of it. have a lot of wrist action and very little arm action. good luck!

what u do, shoot threes from one spot, which ever number of 3's desired, then go to different spots behind the 3 point line, which ever spot u hit at best is the best place 2 get better at i tried and it works i cannot hit a 3 from anywhere but a diagonal 3 ball

Yup, nothing beats practice. Fortune magazine published an excellent article called, "What It Takes to Be Great." The link is below. It's so worth a read. Makes you realize it's not simply natural talent that makes Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan great.

* Line up your shots.
* Shoot in an arch! Not a line, more surface area of the basket is exposed when the ball comes DOWN through the basket.
