I do it all that time,my advice: A ton of spares. It costs like a dollar or two to get a key copied, I have about 10 spares of my car keys because I always lose em, lol.
And have you checked in the ignition of your car? I leave mine there a lot yours might be there, too, lol.

or perhaps the dryer gnomes got tired of stealing all those socks and decided to go for something bolder, like your KEYS!!! in which case, i am sorry to say, they are forever lost in the vortex of your dryer. lo siento.
