Anyone whos seen the new episode tonight DONT tell me what happens! It is on at 8pm CST so dont spoil it however... doesnt Mer know how to swim? Why didnt she just swim over to the pier that her knight in shining whatever carried her up when he found her?? I know she was in shock and had hypothermia but immediately after falling in she should have been able to swim out?

She could have swam out... she chose not to. My friends disagree but I think she just gave up. She was unhappy about her mother, her love life, etc. Remember when she tried to "drown" herself in the bathtub in the beginning? I'm pretty sure she'll live though.

Saw the show. And yes she is a strong swimmer according to Derek. She just stopped trying according to her.

the water was probably too cold. but she might not even be able to swim so that could have been the problem

When she entered the water she could have brethed in and inhaled to much water. I think she will pull though...she is strong
