its all over the place! Is it a virus?

If you have a laser mouse, it's because the surface your mouse is on is so hard to read it can't get a good reading off it. Try using different colored surfaces (books, papers) and see what works; try to avoid green and solid colors, go with something with a picture or otherwise irregular.

If you are using a laptop your 'j' mouse might be stuck. Try wiggling it to see if that's the cause.

try cleaning your mouse...
take the ball out and clean the rollers inside.
If its a laser mouse clean the scum build up off the bottom of it

If its a wireless, replace the batterys. I just had that happen to me, drove me nuts!
