english, english, english- as editors can pick out any gramatical error. If you are still in school, or even out, you may want to advertise that you are looking to edit for modest fee for term papers, theses, discertations, etc. You should be able to charge as new to this thought, $3.00 per page as a newbie up to a higher amount that professionals charge. (providing you are good at the craft of writing and english grammar, etc.)
Look in the back of writing magazines like Writers Digest and see the classified ads from individuals that do just this. Call them up- you are not a threat to them and most likely they would be happy to give you advice. You could also look in the books sold at Barnes & Noble /Borders etc in the reference writing sections called The Writers Guide which lists all publishing houses. You could call them up and try to get to a specific editior with a message and they may contact you because of your interest... or write letters out to many and wait for response.
