no that does not bother me. what bothers me is when i go into a store in a Spanish area and everything is in spanish. yet when they come into a store in an english area they expect everything to be in spanish and english.

it bothers me that Millions of people come to this country and refuse to learn the language. then they demand that the government hire translators and have all paperwork put into their native language.....AND WE DO IT.

no where else in the world can you go live in a country or even visit withouf being expected to know the local language. yet here in america getting 10 bucks on pump 5 can be a 20 minute affair.
simple things like calling a bank to get a credit statement and not being able to understand the person on the other line.

i am fine with hireing immigrants (the legal ones) and i am all good with giving them some adjustment time. but if we are not going to require them to learn our language. then maybe the phone message should say

to speak to a person that speaks english press 1

if i ever have a business that needs multiple phone lines the message will say.

for english press 1.

all others learn english then call back and press 1

no, i think people should worry about things in this world that actually make a difference like world hungry or something, our country is growing and changing, it's evolving into something that fits with the culture, people need to get over it and realize that. english hasn't been an official language for centruries, so why the bother now? It;s better if you give the options for different languages because although someone may speak english, they may not understand it completely, and having soemthin explained to them in their native language really helps out with comprehension.

and if you knew anytning about USA history or history of the americas, which includes Canada, US, and MEXICO, you would know taht english speakin people are not the orginal people of this continent. Christopher comlubus stumbled across the Americas and eventually brought all his european explores over to the americas killing off 90% of the indigenous population with diseases and the encomienda system. The spanish explorer cortes went to the Aztec city Tenochtitlan, now known as mexico city and used them and invaded their land and took over, then you have the time when the US took over what used to be Mexico, which if you look at a map at that time is texas and California, and maybe some other regions. so my question is do you get offened when people don;t know the history of the land they live on and demand that others conform to popular belief, and why don't the ppl in the US speak the language of the native people that were here before them?

Yes, I get offended. I am in America, my native language is English. If I didn't want to hear it in English I would have called Japan or Mexico. SO YES I WANT TO HEAR IT IN ENGLISH.

No... the only thing that offends me is when you have an automated menu and have to spend hours wading through it trying to figure out how to talk to a real person. :)

Why? The better question is if native Americans, the real Americans, are offended when they hear this.
