I have just arrived in US a month ago and met around five girls. The russian and the latino were really interesting but the american babes were like pffff ... Too bad. I like the americans ...

The thing with a roommate situation is: women are worried about sharing with a male who they don't know. ANY male - American or not. It's a safety thing. If you were a woman, you probably would not be getting such rude response. Keep in mind that if you are a roommate - that means you have a key to the door and you will be living under the same roof. I'm not saying all women are like that - but for safety reasons, the preffer to have other female roommates so they don't have to worry about being raped. It has nothing to do with you being American or Not. Most rapes in the USA happen to women by men they know, i.e., date-rape, a friend, co-worker, family member, etc... I'm sorry they were rude to you - they are just being overly paranoid.

I would not worry about it, there are still a lot of people all over the world who are fearful of people from other countries with all of the terrorist attacks and whatnot going on these days.
I'd just keep looking and answer all that you can with a polite demeanour, you will always find nice people who will share a room with you, some just are naturally unintellitgent.

You've decided that all "American girls" are the same based on three responses??? I'd say that's a rude attitude both toward women, and toward Americans. I'm not terribly surprised that you haven't found a roommate with that attitude.

LMAO, "alien" can also mean a foreigner. I know its like the drug as in drug store and the drugs as in drug dealer, totally different. Some americans girls can be like that, but their are some nice ones. That girl in the email sounded crazy.
