y-intercept is where x = 0, so plug it in:
y = (x-3) / (x-1)
y = (0-3) / (0-1)
y = -3/-1
y-intercept = 3

x-intercept is where y = 0. Set the equation equal to 0 and solve:
0 = (x-3) / (x-1)
Multiply both sides by x - 1:
0 = (x-3)
x-intercept = 3
