Unless you can boot into your computer you won't be able to recover your pics.
An option would be to install your hard drive into another computer, that might work.

Connect the hard drive to another computer. There's a gadget listed in the back pages of PCWorld Magazine for around $25 that allows you to connect a hard drive to another computer through a USB port.

You wouldn't be voiding any warranties by cracking the case on a new computer.

It's possible that only a small component has been fried by the lightning, it might be worthwhile taking the dead comp to a tech.

Just take the hard drive out of the old computer and put it in another one and you will probably be able to recover your pictures. I have had that happen to me and had no problems.
