my best friend's little brother got an air soft gun and he used to shoot us all the time.
it didn't hurt till he got tha Co2 powered one.
thank god his dad took it away.

It depends on what kind of airsoft gun you are interested in buying. If you don't want it to hurt, DO NOT get a Co2 powered one. Also, if you are gonna get shot, wear multiple(3-5) thin shirts or stuff like that. Cardboard can also make it hurt less if u make like an armor sort of thing. And wear a helmet. I got hit in the eye once. Had to go to the hospital. It sucked.

I recommend the spring powered ones, they do not hurt 95% of the time and dont require any extra equipment( other than BB's). Gas powered guns hurt more and you must buy the gas to use them which over time can get expensive. The Electric ones are a little better when it comes to machine guns and usually have a higher fps than springs but need to be charged before used.also remember to wear goggles.
