Why are so many including Yahoo so uptight about nudism?

There is nothing dirty or obscene about the human body. Why are so many of you ashamed of your own bodies and so turned off at the sight of others who prefer to sunbathe or socialize without clothes. You talk about dressing "sexy" or revealing. Have you somehow confused natural with something dirty and forbidden? Enlighten me.

In spite of the fact that nudism has really grown in popularity in the US in my lifetime, there are still a lot of people that simply cannot get their head around why others could enjoy socializing nude on a warm summer's day.

One of the main reasons for this is that some people get nude for only two reasons - to bathe or to make love. They simply do not think of nakedness in any other venue, thus, they cannot imagine people socializing nude and it NOT being sexual.

You can try to explain it to them if you like. You can mouth the words, but they cannot appreciate what you're saying.

Another reason has to do with nudism's primary thesis - body acceptance; the fact that we accept our bodies as they are, and we are not ashamed or intimidated by others' bodies.

That is one of the first things that a person notices when they go to a nude beach or resort for the first time - no one is taking special notice of them, or any one else. They're simply having a good time in the sun. Sex or eroticism never enters into the picture.

I don't think the issue is so much hating nudity. I think there are a lot of adolescents on public forums like yahoo that see it only sexually, simply because of their hormones. And as a result they may get into other kinds of trouble, eg pressuring or forcing girls to show themselves. Plus people would easily move from simple nudity to pornography.

And then Yahoo and other public forums would find themselves in serious trouble.

Having nudity contained where people are comfortable with that is the best deal for all people. That way you can do your thing and avoid most of the perverts and the people that feel uncomfortable with it don't have to see it.

i see no problem with nudity, in fact i wish more people would walk around naked.... of course there are certain types of people you wouldn't wanna see naked but if for every 10 of them you got to see someone you wanted to see naked... i say its a fair deal.... and also ya... everyone needs to lighten the F up because for the most part we all got the same parts under our clothes and if we aren't offended by our own naked bodies we shouldn't be offended by anothers.....
