i ask because my oil pump went out in mine and i wanted to buy another one. without giving up my old motor for a core charge.

But Chevy started this beautiful engine in 1965 with the 262 CID V-8 not the 283 CID as some people would have you believe, 262, 265, 267, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 372, 383, 400 CID
Were the various engine sizes that were introduced by GM over the years under the BOW TIE.

If you're wanting to keep the engine I'm assuming it's not trashed then. Why not loosen the motor mounts,lift the engine(not remove),take the oil pan down,and replace the oil pump. I did it on a old truck 20 years ago and still see the truck around from time to time.

Yea I do. I have the vortec version of the 350 and I also have a 350 4 bolt main with a 4 barrel 650 CFM carb on it.

I dont!!! I got a 327 in my 57 chevy. trying to find a buicknail head or olds rocket for it.

i do in my 1998 chevy silverado it's nice Lots of power i like the Vortec i have 198,000 miles on my suburban and it still runs strong, very good engine.
