I have to write a paper on romeo and juliet this is what we have to do:

In Act One, we find out Romeo is hopelessly in love with Rosaline. We never get to meet Rosaline or hear her thoughts. For this assignment, describe Romeo from Rosaline's point of view. What do you think Rosaline thinks of Romeo? Write at least two complete pages with a description of Romeo as you imagine Rosaline sees him. Follow the rules for standard English.

any ideas at all would be nice, im not good at romeo and juliet.

THANKS!!!

Take a weird angle: Rosaline doesn't really want to be chaste and a nun. She secretly loves Romeo, but her mother would never allow her to marry, she must become a nun. She doesn't want anyone to find out that she doesn't really want to be a nun, so she pretends she does. Have a scene that happens after the play where she kills herself because Romeo is dead.

P.S. Have fun! The essay for Romeo and Juliet that I have to write is a dead bore!

Well, first you have to understand that Romeo is NOT in love with Rosaline, he is infatuated with her. In lust but not in love.

You have to decide if you think Rosaline sees him the same way, or if she is actually in love with him. Is she after him because he is the only son of a rich and powerful family? Does she want him for who he actually is?

Decide who Rosaline actually is. She will be somebody acceptable to Romeo's family as they have made no bones about his infatuation with her and he hasn't kept it a secret like he did with his love for Juliet. Is she the daughter of another noble family? Is she a distant cousin?

Remember, this was written in Elizathian England, think as though you were Shakespeare, writing for that sort of audience, and you will do fine.

Ah, the forgotten Rosaline what a great challenge. You should take a cue from the "madly in love" and describe her pining at length and waxing nostalgic about his attributes and cursing the day Juliet was born for it was that cursed day that caused her to lose the love of her life. Create her as insane and locked away in a nunnery for her pining over Romeo. She could complain about her parents and say if only allot. Have fun!

well the best advice i can give is this: you know what Romeo looks like right ? does Rosaline like Romeo back ? sorry it has been years since i studied it. if she does kinda romanticize him. if she doesn't make him out to be like the kinda cute guy who's amusing in his antics to get her attention maybe ? use any information the book gives you on the two of them to your full advantage. good luck.

I have a smoking paper I wrote for my post graduate degree in literary criticism. It deals with this issue specifically. I would love to give it to you, but that would be unethical. I am good at Romeo and Juliet.
