my teachers husband became very ill after eating fresh pineapple at a buffet. they both ate the same things, except he had pineapple n she didnt. they r chinese and apparently it is the custom to put fresh lemon juice on on fruit. they didnt have the lemon to put on, but he ate it anyway. said it tasted fine n everything. when they had gone to the doctors he said it was some kind of enzyme or something, not a parasite or a virus, but it was enough to make him ill for a long time. he lost a lot of weight and scared his wife. when we were all talking about it i mentioned how in mexico u put lemon, lime or salt onto fruit, and a lot of other people were saying how in whatever culture they were from, that there is a habit of doing the same. the lemon is strong enought to kill whatever it is that, if it is present, can make u sick. this isnt something that is on all pineapple, and theres no reason to really b afraid of pineapple, but it may b wise to stick to canned pineapple during ur pregnancy .canned pineapple is one of the few fruits that r just as tasty from a can. plus its soooo much easier to deal with anyway.

Ofcourse! None of those old wives tales work anyway. The baby comes when its ready. No amount of pineapple will bring on labour hun x

It won't make you go into labor, I ate LOTS all during my pregnancy. So enjoy your pineapple:)

No, Pineapples are just fine. They won't make you go into preterm labor or anything. Congrats!
