While I was helping my friend dig out the foundation for his basement, we came across a very large (2 pound or so) nugget of unrefined copper ore? Should I try to sell this? and if so how much can I sell it for? or should we keep it as a trophy?

Probably best if you kept on your window sill. The amount of copper in the ore will depend on a number of things, but more than likely it isn't enough to sell.

If you feel adventurous, you could try to smelt and refine it yourself. Try to find the book entitled "Out of the Fiery Furnace" It chronicles how the ancients refined metals, that is to say primitively, and therefore these same methods are simple and within the reach of a back yard metallurgist.

There is a kilo of copper going for 41 dollars on ebay.
A. It is 99.9 percent copper.
B. It is in a bar shape.
My guess is that you can probably get 30 dollars for yours.
Copper prices don't seem to be rising either.
I'd keep it as a trophy but if you want a quick dollar, sell it on ebay or at your local pawn shop.

Let me see, if copper is going for about $1.00/pound so you might have $2.00, once it is refined. I would keep it or sell it on ebay.
