how about: (1) widespread and irretrievable destruction of ancient cultural artifacts and (2) chaos, anarchy and civil war?

Let's not forget anarchy or mass murder and kidnapping for profit.

Two things which are gone are ancient (6000+ years) artifacts destroyed by violence and vandalism, plus the demise of a functioning legal system. Aside from the corruption of the baath party, Iraq's legal system under Saddam was one of the best in the Middle East.
