Then let's make sure your dream happens. Wishing will not get you there... hard work will. You will need to study photography and the best way is to become an apprentice of a photographer you admire... perhaps someone who already films and photographs skateboarders. The best experiences will be learned by trial and error... you will find natural light to be both your friend and your enemy as you film/photograph. You will have to have the proper equipment to catch that perfect shot... you'll have to learn what film to use for the speed you are trying to capture. You can earn a fine living in photography, but to be honest, I wouldn't limit myself to just one sport such as skateboarding. Perhaps if your work is of high quality those who publish skateboarding magazines will seek you out. But you can also make a good living taking photos at weddings and special events (I can almost hear your groan, but I know photographers who charge $7,500 for a wedding and reception... and some charge even more). Good luck with your dream... now start putting together your plan on how to become the best photographer of skateboarders.

the camera you have is good for starting your best bet is gradually upgrade see if they do evening classes at your local collage or find a camera club in your area you will find everyone very friendly and helpful and keep taking photos always keep a camera with you you never know when you will come across something unexpected that can be photographed another tip is go with a friend or relative to a busy street or similar get then to stand in front of the camera as if you were going to take there photo then get them to stand right out of the way at the last minute and take your photo then you should have a good natural photo of a crowd with out people staring at the camera and always remember Patrice makes perfect
