Once the charged light is on, its no longer sending charge to the battery. If it did, the battery might explode. This is a cliche with all phones from the days of the trickle chargers on Nickle-Metal Hydrid (NiMh) and Nickle Cadmium (NiCd). It just became standard instructions.

You have a LiIon battery now, and shouldn't even need to charge all the way for the first time.

So go ahead...unplug......enjoy!!

new battery? Charge until it says charge completed then run it dead the first time and charge again. on a ahouse charger by the way, then after that you can use a car charger. Best way to get max life from your battery. This is good to do with and rechargeable battery, laptaops, drills etc. Also if you leave a car charger , i mean if you use one, try not to keep it plugged in for more then a half hour. Not good for the battery.

its important to make sure its charged full the first time, then let it go out and recharge fully again. then charge as you want. but sometimes let it run all the way out then charge it full again. im serious. its really helps to extend the battry llife

i doubt it... mine said the same thing but i used it rite away charged over nite. or when battery went low.. and its worked fine... just use your phone as is.. i doubt your battery will work differently if not "properly" charged.
