I have a 1979 4x4 chevy truck with a 350 can i put a 1987 350 tuned port fuel injection motor in?

should be a straight forward boltup,,,the only thing you may have to do is install an electric fuel pump and control module,,,these are available at most auto parts stores.

Swapping engines should be a remove and replace sort of thing. 350 blocks seem to be similar through the years, however they went to a different one piece rear main seal, and I believe the valve covers will be center bolt ones on the 87 motor.
You will need the computer, wiring harness, and engine accessories, and probably will need to do some fuel line/fuel pump in tank work. It is best to get a complete running car to pull the motor out of.
Theres info out there check carcraft.com, also do a websearch for tpi motors and the like.
I was considering doing a similar swap on my 84 Caprice wagon, cept swap the heads, and all of the electronics/injectors and such. My engine in prety good in my Caprice, so it would be a waste to swap out a good running bottom end.
