Hardaway is an idiot. For him to verbally attack homosexuals was a pretty sorry display. I am glad David Stern eliminated Hardaway's connection with the NBA as a spokes person.

One would think that as an african-american he would understand the negative effects of spreading a message of hate, regardless of the target.

So yes, Hardaway is the most hated man related to basketball. For those who suggested David Stern, give your head a shake, his reforms are aimed at cleaning up the league's image. If Stephen Jackson would stop shooting up strip clubs, guys like Scott Pollard would stop showing up to WORK dressed like an idiot with a mohawk, and guys like Hardaway weren't using a public forum provided by the NBA to spout bigotry like idiots, the reforms wouldn't be neccesary.

the only thing Tim did wrong was to say it out loud in public...just in case a lot of you don't realize it MOST of the players in the league and probably in mens major professional sports in America feel the same way...and since Tim is now the sacrificial lamb, those players know better than to ever say it in public and have it cost them endorsement money and public ridicule...

you're right about him being the most hated man in the game, and its sad because it looks like he just doesn't get it...i think his apology was written up by a PR guy just looking to salvage whatever is left of his reputation...he appears to think that all he needs to do is say "i didn't mean hate, i shouldn't have said that i'm sorry", when he has damaged an entire community of people...he needs some serious sensitivity training, and in his defense has come to that conclusion himself and is at least considering it
