Norman, OK, is about 80 miles north of the Red River, which borders the Texas/Oklahoma state lines. To reach the Red River from Norman is a simple process, just head south on I-35. The Red River actually empties into lake Texoma. Hope this helps. By the way, I live in Oklahoma, about 30 miles from the Red River.

Norman is just north of the capital city of Oklahoma city. The Red River forms it's southern boundry between TX and OK
