I'm not sure if you have one in your area, but I love TGIFridays. It's kindof the same atmosphere as Applebee's. They have fantastic food. I love their sesame jack chicken strips with jack daniels sauce.
They are great on customer service too. We went out for mother's day. My food was a little cold when they brought it out. I told the waitress, she took it back, brought me another. The manager came out, appologized, gave me my dinner for free. Plus, free desserts for our entire table. They wanted to make sure we came back.

If your budget is tight, we go to Dennie's for breakfast. There Grand Slams are big enough to split. I eat the Pancakes and my husband eats the rest. I get strawberries and whipped cream for .99 cents extra. A cheap meal and more than enough.

I don't know your location, but if possible I would look for some locally-owned restaurants. Those are often overlooked and are so much better than major chain restaurants.
