It varies depending on strain. diet, environment quality, and tank size, but well raised they'll reach a good adult size within about two years. They do keep growing all their lives, but growth slows rapidly after this, and more so as they get older.

If you want to grow a fish to it’s maximum potential, then daily water change and routine feedings of 3-4 times per day will be crucial.

Fishes do grow with water changes done at once per week but at a slower rate. Growing a discus big will depend on the following gene of the fish, stocking density of the tank, type of food fed, health of the fish, temperature of the water and daily water change. Daily water change is done because of feeding Ox heart and usually meaty feeds will foul the water.

If you are using other feeds and your water condition is good then daily maintenance of 20-30% water change should be more than enough for max growth.
