No, The 9800 will destroy it easily.
The x300 is garbage.

Performance is low for the x300. The 9800 Pro is definitively a faster product. The x300 can be bought for $40.00 and is PCI-Express x16. The 9800 cost over $100.00, if you can find someone still selling them and is an AGP card.

The 9800 would be a little faster. (around the 6600GT card in performance). The x300 is around the speed of a 6200TC.

X300 is PCIe architecture 16X bus speed, Memory runs at 325MHz. core clock RAMDAC. Inexpensive PCIe card. Built-in hyper-memory system same with GF6200 Turbo Cache Techno.
9800 is AGP archi. support 8X bus speed. Memory runs at 290MHz. RAMDAC.

No, ATI 9800 is much faster.
