Erosion
Erosion is the process by which soil and weathered rock particles (sediment - gravel, sand, silt, and clay) are transported, or moved from one place to another.
The agents of erosion are:

Running water
Wind
Ice (glaciers)
Waves
Gravity (mass wasting)

The wind blows particles at rocks, which erode at the rock itself, creating more small particles that get blown along with the wind. When the wind dies, it deposits the load.

Waves pounds rocks into dust, and then deposit the material when they loose momentum.

Ice erodes by plucking and abrasion. Plucking is where water infiltrates rocks with cracks in them, then freezes, which causes the rocks to become attached to the ice, or glacier. Then when the glacier moves, it pulls the rock with it, thus eroding it. Abrasion occurs at the base of a glacier where the ice scrapes along the rock floor.
